Get Ready for the Modern UI in MYOB Acumatica 2026.1

What is the modern user interface?

The Modern UI is a full rebuild of every non-payroll screen in MYOB Acumatica using modern technology (Modern UI for payroll follows in 2026.1.3). It's not just a fresh coat of paint — it brings a cleaner look and feel that makes information easier to find, noticeably snappier performance, and far more ways to personalise screens to how your business actually works. It's also the gateway to features that simply aren't possible in the Classic UI, including AI features, a rebuilt customer portal and a new project status view.

The switch isn't forced on you immediately. From October 2026 to February 2027, turning on the Modern UI is optional when you upgrade to 2026.1. From May to July 2027, it becomes mandatory as part of the 2026.2 upgrade. That gives you a genuine window to prepare properly rather than scrambling.

Planning your transition to the modern UI

Here's the practical path: Get your EAP Upgrade Sandbox provisioned on the 2026.1 build, and check that your customisations republish successfully. Back up your Classic UI dashboards by exporting them as XML files before you touch anything. Then, in your sandbox, turn on the Modern UI at site level and test your key workflows — with particular attention to customised forms, custom workflows, dashboards, reports and inquiries. Dashboards need converting: for customised dashboards, go to the Classic Dashboards screen (SM208600), click Design, then Switch to Modern UI; for standard dashboards, go to the Dashboards screen (SM208610), select the standard dashboard by name, and click Replace Classic Dashboard. You'll also need to convert any attributes to UDFs.

Only move to Live once user testing is complete and any issues are resolved. You can switch an individual form or the entire site at once, but sandbox testing before flipping the switch in Live is strongly recommended either way.
