AI Comes Standard: What's New in MYOB Acumatica 2026.1

From 2026.1, MYOB Acumatica is officially an AI-powered ERP (payroll AI follows in 2026.1.3), with a minimum level of AI capacity now built into the platform itself. Better still, MYOB is offering free monthly AI credits from October to December 2026, so there's no reason not to start experimenting.

There's a genuine spread of features to try, all switched on individually via the Enable/Disable Features screen: anomaly detection for numeric outliers in Generic Inquiries, image recognition for expense receipts, AP document recognition (more on that in a later article), intelligent text completion, and the AI Assistant — a plain-language chat feature. The AI Assistant needs the CS100000 feature enabled and is subject to licensing; it's accessed through the new AI Assistant User role (or via Administrator/Support roles), with token usage tracked on the License Maintenance screen. On top of that, AI Studio lets you build your own AI-driven automations. Keep in mind all of this requires the Modern UI and release 2026.1 or higher (2026.1.3 for payroll).

AI Assistant

The AI Assistant itself is genuinely useful day to day: ask questions in plain language and get answers back as text summaries, tables, lists, charts or pivot tables, with one-click drill-down to the underlying records. You can even convert a chart or table answer straight into a dashboard widget. Administrators control which Generic Inquiries the Assistant can draw on and can add business-language descriptions to improve accuracy, and conversations are saved and grouped so users can pick up where they left off.

AI Automations with AI Studio

AI Studio automations go further, handling repetitive drafting and summarising work: generating standardised descriptions for stock items, GL batches, AP bills, POs and fixed assets; correcting capitalisation on customer records; drafting proforma billing narratives and invoice descriptions; putting together Project Change Order scope and justification; checking timesheet hours; drafting shipment delivery and packing notes; and summarising sales order quantities by warehouse.

On cost: your free AI units reset each month with no rollover, and if you go over, the AI Assistant simply pauses until more capacity is added.
